If an atom loses a neutrons then it will affect the atomic mass or the mass number of the atom. The molar mass of an atom is equal to the atomic number or the number of protons, or the number of electrons added to the number of neutrons. Hence a decrease or a lost in the number of neutrons will result to a change in atomic mass.
Atomic Mass = Atomic Number + Number of Neutrons
Number of Neutrons = Mass Number - Atomic Number
Atomic Number = Number of Protons = Number of Electrons
