About Us

The internet is flooded with low quality answers, without the substance and description that students need and crave. What's worse, we find that children, teenagers, and even college students are using these sub par resources in assignments, quizzes, and tests.

Enter the Owls

Question owl is a free, quality resource for students to ask and answer questions they are facing in their studies. We feature every category a student encounters in grade school, middle school, high school, and college. However, in contrast to other resources on the web, we show that all questions are connected within and between subjects are connected in a vast web of knowledge.

“Hoo” are we?

The Question Owl team is comprised of programmers, mathematicians, historians, English majors, geography enthusiasts, scientists, and many other specializations. Some of us hold degrees at the best universities, others of us dropped out of school; but we all agree that the questions and answers offered on Question Owl are fundamental to any trade, profession, or discipline.

The owlgorithm

What better way to answer questions that students are facing than to ask student’s themselves? At Question Owl, we encourage visitors to post their questions as soon as they realize they are struggling. Our team prioritizes these questions and typically answers them within minutes. This kind of turnaround is offered by very few websites; and many fewer offer it for free.

What do our owl eyes see?

Our vision at Question Owl is to create a comprehensive web of questions and answers that spans all subjects in the Liberal Arts and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). We want to show that these two seemingly disparate areas of knowledge are actually intimately connected by various neural pathways. We illuminate this by linking questions whose answers employ similar thought patterns to one another. In many cases, we’ve found that soft sciences and arts share more overlap with STEM than most would expect.

Leaving the nest

We great power comes great responsibility...cliche, yes we know. However, with more users, and more students, we do feel a tremendous obligation to provide the best quality web of knowledge the internet can muster. We believe the web is converging towards a much higher standard of knowledge, and humanity with it. We want to be a part of that. One question at a time.
