In order to find the radius of the can, you must determine first what is it's shape. Hence, we all know that a can is cylindrical in shape, therefore we can use the equation for the volume of the can to find for the radius of the can. This means that you must measure first the volume and height of the can.

Formula for the volume of the can.

V=πr^2h

To find for th radius, simply divide both sides by hπ, in order to cancel out πr^2h

V/πh = πr^2h/πh

r^2 = V/πh

Take the square root of both sides to cancel out r^2 leaving behind r.

r^2 = V/πh

√r^2 =  √V/πh

r = √V/πh
