Range = 85 - 72
= 13
To find median we have to arrange the numbers in ascending order
72, 73, 75, 76, 76, 79, 83, 85
Now, number of terms = 8
Here, number of terms is an even number. So,
Median = [(n/2)th term + (n/2 + 1)th term]/2
= [(8/2)th + (8/2 + 1)th]/2
= [4th term + 5th term]/2
= [76 + 76]/2
= 152/2
= 76
Hence, Median of given numbers is 76
