Plant classification is important because it differentiates plants from one another. It is crucial for every plant eater to be able to identify between edible and non edible or poisonous plants. Plant taxonomy or classification is the science of naming organisms and placing them in an organize or hierarchical structure, each level being given a name; kingdom, (phylum), class, order, family, genus and  species. The plant taxonomy was first introduced by Carolus Linnaeus, a Swedish scientist.
