The expression (3x + 2)(2x-8) is equivalent to (3) 6x^2-20x-16

It can be determined using the FOIL method. FOIL stand for First, Outer, Inner, Last. First means multiply the terms which occur first in each binomial and  Outer means multiply the outermost terms in the product.

(3x)(2x) = 6x^2

(3x)(-8) = -24x

(2)(2x) = 4x

(2)(-8)=-16

=6x^2-24x+4x-16

=6x^2-20x-16
