slope of a line parallel to the line with equation 5x + 3 y = 7

when two lines are parallel then their slopes are also equal, m1=m2

from given equation 5x+3y=7 we can make slope intercept form equation that is y=mx+c

now, 3y=-5x+7

divide both side by 3

y=-5/3x+7/3

here m1=-5/3

then m2=m1=-5/3

so slope of line parallel to other line is -5/3
