Given :

Hypotenuse = 9 inches

One leg of triangle = 3 inches

So, by phythogoras theorem:

H² = B² +P²

9² = 3² +P²

P² = 81 - 9

P² = 72

Taking square root from both sides, we get

P = 6√2

Now, Area of triangle = 1/ 2 × base × height

Area = 1/ 2 × 3 × 6√2

= 9√2

Thus, Area of triangle is 9√2.
