John Dalton was considered to be the father of atomic theory. His theory states that the atom is indivisible and indestructible, and it mainly consists of all objects. He proposed that different elements are made up of different types of atoms with different chemical formulas, hence according to Dalton, an atom can combine in order to form compounds. He also represented a model for the atoms, which he called the billiard ball model. The model states that similar to a billiard ball, the atom are hard objects and it cannot be easily destroyed because of this hardness.
