Qualitative characteristics of lens :

A lens is a flexible, biconcave, crystal like structure that brings raya of light into focus and produces an image on ratina. A lens is a piece of transparent material, usually circular in shape, with two polished surfaces, either or both of which is curved and may be either convex (bulging) or concave (depressed). The curves are almost always spherical , the radius of curvature is constant. It provides refractive power to eye .

Light rays enter eye through cornea , pupil and transparent part of lens then light rays focused directly into ratina then retina converts light rays into nerve impulse then impulse sent through optic nerve to our brain where they are recognised as image.

The lens has power to capability to focuses on light dim and high light enter in the eyes. The lens has a ability of change its shape according light intensity.
