We have,

x²-3x+1=0

Standard form is ax² + bx + c = 0

Here, a = 1 , b = -3 and c = 1

Formula:

x = -b ± √b² -4ac/2a

Solving using the Quadratic formula:

x = -(-3) ± √(-3)2 - 4 • 1 • 1) / 2 • 1

x = (3 ± √ 9 - 4) / 2

x = (3 ± √5) 2

Taking positive sign, we get

x1 = 3/2 + √5 / 2 

= 2.62

Now, taking negative sign, we get

x2 = 3/2 - √5 / 2

 = 0.38
