Let the common number be x

Then, 1st number would be 5x and 2nd number would be 6x

According to question, sum of two numbers is 66

So, 5x + 6x = 66

11x = 66

Dividing both sides by 11, we get

11x/11 = 66/11

x = 6

So, the numbers are 5x = 5 × 6 = 30

And, 6x = 6 × 6 = 36

Therefore, the larger number is 36.
