Let the larger number be x

And smaller number be y

Then, according to question

x + y = 32 ….1

x - y = 8 ….2

Adding equation 1 and 2, we get

x + y + x - y = 32 + 8

2x = 40

x = 40/2

x = 20

Now, putting value of x in equation 1, we get

20 + y = 32

y = 32 - 20

y = 12

Thus, two numbers are 20 and 12.
