Let the breadth be x

Then, Length is x + 9 cm

Now, breadth and Length is increased by 3 cm

So, breadth = x + 3 cm

And, Length = x+ 12 cm

Area of rectangle = Length × breadth

Now, according to question area of new rectangle is 84 cm² more than of the given rectangle.

So, (x+3)(x+12) - x(x+9) = 84

x² + 3x + 12x + 36 - x² - 9x = 84

6x + 36 = 84

6x = 84 - 36

6x = 48

x = 48/6

x = 8

So, breadth = 8 cm

 length = 8 + 9 = 17 cm
