True

Tornadoes are one of the catastrophic wind that occurs more commonly in the United States. It starts with the formation of a huge thunderstorm that readily occurs in the cumulonimbus type of cloud. Due to the high wind speed and the changing wind direction, it allows the air to rotate horizontally. With the increase in the amount of wind that rises upward, it pushes the horizontally rotating wind upward and subsequently leads to the formation of a funnel-shaped cloud of rotating air mass. This is the beginning of the formation of a tornado. As the funnel increases and touches the ground then it is considered as a tornado.
