Plants that encourage the proliferation of nitrogen-fixing bacteria are Legumes.
The nitrogen fixing bacteria in the legume is called root nodules. Root nodules can fix atmospheric nitrogen into available form and it becomes the stable source of nitrogen of legumes. Legume byproducts has high amount of crude protein and this is because proteins are made up of amino acids and those amino acids have nitrogenous bases. Examples of legumes are chickpeas, kidney beans, peanuts, soybeans and green peas.
