The Liver is considered to be the organ responsible for converting ammonia into urea. Urea is the waste product by organisms such as humans, mammals, amphibians and fishes,  that is produced when the body metabolizes protein. Through the process of urea cycle, the excess amino acids are broken down into ammonia, which later can be also turned back to urea.
