list the characteristics of life

Characteristics of life are the following;

1 Reproduction is the process by which organisms are reproducing or giving birth.
2 Homeostasis is the condition within organisms that regulates their internal temperature from external variation. 
3 Development is when organisms changes before maturity or adulthood.
4 Autonomy is defined as being independent and living free from external constraints.
5 Metabolism is the process of generating energy and using it.
6 Survival is when the living organisms is capable to stay in existence, or alive, in spite of adversity.
7 Evolution is the process where an organism can improve based on variations. Variations that are useful for the next generation are preserved and passed on or inherited by their offspring.
8 Growth means that organisms can increase it's body size over time but also has a definite limit.
9 Nucleic acids is the hereditary material for all organisms and it contains genes that will define the organism.
