So basically we need to find out if : ¾ > 4/5
Now in order to compare to fractions, the denominator should be the same. In order to do that we need to find out the smallest multiple of those numbers.
The smallest multiple of 4 and 5 is 20
so in order to turn 4 into a 20 we multiply with 5 and to turn 5 into a 20 we multiply by 4.
Remember that if we multiply the denominator, we will have to multiply the numerator as well with the same number.
in this case: (3*5)/(4*5)…(4*4)/(5*4)
15/20 < 16/20
So ¾ is smaller than 4/5
