Correct answer is c . ( Dermal tissue system) .

Dermal tissue system:

Epidermis is the surface of the skin, the layer you can see. It’s composed of the protein keratin in the form of compressed dead cells. It’s about 0.1 to 0.5 mm thick in most places.

Dermis is the deeper layer, composed of fibrous bundles of the protein collagen secreted by scattered cells called fibroblasts. Epidermis and dermis together are 1 to 2 mm thick.

“Protective tissue” is just a vague expression of no specific anatomical meaning. It can pertain to the above skin layers but also to various other tissues throughout the body such as bones, fat, and the fibrous capsules of the liver and kidneys.

This photo shows epidermis and a little of the dermis on the sole of the foot; the full dermis goes much deeper than this.
