In order to find for the slope of the line, we simply need to be familiar we the formulas.
Formula for the slope of the line given two points:
m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
Hence we must have the value of x1, y1, x2, and y2.
Formula for the slope of the line given 1 point:
m = y/x
m = rise/run
Example:
Given:
(-7, 2)
(5, 8)
x1 = -7
x2 = 5
y1= 2
y2 = 8
Find the slope of the line.
Formula for the slope of the line:
m = change in y/ change in x
m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

Substitute the given values to the formula for the slope of the line.
