In order to solve for x, lets try and remove the brackets. Multiply 2 with (4x+8)

2(4x+8)=8x+16

-16=8x+16

Lets put the variables on one side and the numbers on the other side. Every variable or number that will change signs, will have their sign changed from a + into a - and vice versa.

8x=-16-16

8x=-32

Divide both sides with 8.

8x/8 = -32/8

x = -4
