A round trip takes 3.5 hours going one way and 2 hours to return if the trip back is at a speed 15 mph faster than the speed of the first trip.

So let the Speed in the first trip is “x” and then the speed of the return Be “x+15” so both distances are the same so  by the formula

Distence= speed *time

(X)(3.5)=(x+15)(2)

3.5x-2x=30

1.5x=30

x=20 then the Speed in the first trip will be 20m/s and the speed in return will be 35 m/s

Distance will be = 3.5*20= 70 km.
