Lets try and remove the bracket on the left side of the equation by multiplying the 7 with the bracket (2x+5).

14x+35=4x-9x

14x+35=-5x

Lets put the variables on one side and the numbers on the other side. Every variable or number that will change signs, will have their sign changed from a + into a - and vice versa.

14x+5x=-35

19x = -35

Divide both sides with 19.

19x/19 = -35/19

x=-35/19
