In order to find out x and y, we have 2 to express one of them in relation with each other. In this case i will express y in relation with x.

Lets take the first equation:

10x+7y=1

7y=1-10x

y=(1-10x)/7

Now we will substitute y in our second equation:

-5x-7y=24

-5x-7((1-10x)/7 )=24

-5x-(1-10x)=24

-5x-1+10x=24

5x-1=24

5x=25

x=5

We will substitute X on y=(1-10x)/7 to find y

y=(1-10*5)/7

y=(1-50)/7

y=-49/7

y=-7
