In order to solve these equations we can just put the unknown values of X on one side of the equation and the numbers on the other side of the equation. If a number or a variable changes side, they change sign from + to - and vice versa.

x-7x=8-6

-6x=2

Divide both sides with -6

(-6x)/(-6) = 2/(-6)

x=-(2/6)=-(⅓)
