given that:- point A (4,-7)=(x1,y1) and B (1,5)=(x2,y2)

y-y1=m(x-x1)

where m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

so, y-y1=[(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)](x-x1)

y-(-7)=[(5+7)/(1-4)](x-4)

y+7=[12/(-3)](x-4)

y+7=-4(x-4)

y+7=-4x+16

4x+y=16-7

4x+y=9      (equation of line)
