Lets try and solve out this equation.

8(x-3)+7=2x(4-17)

Lets try and multiply 8 with (x-3)

8(x-3)=8x-24

So we have:

8x-24+7=2x*(-13)

Multiply 2x with -13.

8x-17=-26x

Lets put the variables on one side and the numbers on the other side. Every variable or number that will change sides, will have their sign changed from a + into a - and vice versa.

8x+26x=17

34x=17

Divide both sides with 34.

34x/34 = 17/34

x=½
