For a 4-TB hard drive, the partitioning method you must use is GUID Partition Table (GPT). Traditional Master Boot Record (MBR) partitioning has a limit of 2 TB for maximum partition size and only supports up to 4 primary partitions. Since your hard drive exceeds this limit, GPT is necessary to utilize the full capacity of your 4-TB hard drive. GPT does not have the 2 TB limit and supports a much larger number of partitions (up to 128 in Windows systems).
