Correct answer is d ( transverse wave ) .

When a disturbance propagates through a medium according to the classical wave equation then it is called a wave. The wave is characterized by its frequency, wavelength, and amplitude. If the particles of the medium vibrate parallel to the propagation direction of the wave then it is called a longitudinal wave and if they vibrate perpendicular to the propagation direction then it is a transverse wave.

Transverse waves doesn't need any medium to travel .
