Given :

2x - 2y = 6

It can be written as

x - y = 3    …..(1)

7x + y = 19     …..(2)

Now, using elimination method,

Adding equation 1 and 2, we get

x - y + 7x + y = 3 + 19

8x = 22

x = 22/8

x = 11/4

Now, putting value of x in 1, we get

11/4 - y = 3

y = 11/4 - 3

y = (11 -12)/4

y = -1/4

Hence, value of x and y are 11/4 and -1/4 respectively.
