We have,

1/3(s-2)=s+4

Cross-Multiplying,  we get

(s - 2) = 3s + 12

Transposing s and 12 to other sides, we get

3s - s = - 2 - 12

2s = - 14

s = -14/2

s = -7

Thus, value of s is -7
