We have,

y = 3x - 2      …..1

 y- 2 = x        ……2

Putting value of y from equation 1 in equation 2, we get

3x - 2 - 2 = x

3x - 4 = x

3x - x = 4

2x = 4

x = 4/2

x = 2

Now putting value of x in equation 1, we get

y = 3(2) - 2

y = 6 - 2

y = 4

So, solutions are (2,4)
