Mitosis is the process of cell division where mother cell produces two daughter cell that contains identical genetic information. Under mitosis, cell undergoes 4 phases in order to reproduce 2 daughter cell. The phases are prophase, metaphase, anaphase telephone. Mitosis occurs in the somatic cell which means that mitosis can occurs in any place except in the reproduction of gametes. Somatic cells are diploid in nature. It means that cell will contain two homologous copies of each chromosome.
