Homeostasis is the tendency of the body to maintain internal stability. Thus, it may also apply to other biological systems or in nature itself, when it is exposed to a disturbance or disruption. When we refer to homeostasis of the body, it generally means that the body will perform complex task or processes in order to maintain the body's stability or function, hence when there is no homeostasis inside the human body, then the person will eventually die. One example of the application of homeostasis is when a person experience heat during a sunny day, the tendency of the body to maintain the stability is to release sweat, in order to cool of heat. During a cold afternoon or winter, the body is signalled by the brain to shiver in order to create heat and cope up with the cold temperature.
