Chlorofluorocarbons, also known as CFC are harmful compounds that tend to destroy the Earth's ozone layer. As we all know the ozone layer is the one responsible for shielding the Earth's atmosphere against the sun's ultraviolet rays, hence, with the destruction of the Earth's Ozone layer, it will cause an increase in temperature and drought to affected areas. Examples of chlorofluorocarbons include refrigerators, air conditioners, and Aerosol sprays. Low concentration of CFC are not that harmful to humans, although exposure to high concentration can affect the central nervous system, heart, kidney, liver and lungs of the person.
