The total students in class are 36

There is a pie chart which shows that 40° is shaded for red hair students and 240° is shaded for dark hair students.

Pie chart shows shaded areas in a circle and a circle always have 360°. So we can find the degree of shaded of blonde hairs.

= 360° -40° -240°

=360° -280°

=80°

The remaining one is for blonded hair students and it is 80°.

We have to find the number of students have red hairs, dark hairs and blonde hairs.

So let's first convert all the information in percentage for smooth calculation.

• Red hair have 40° shade from total of 360°, so it's percentage is:

=(40/360)*100

=11.11%

The total number of Red hair students is:

=11.11% of 36 students

=(11.11/100)*36

=3.996

So we can tell that 4 students have Red hairs.

• Dark hair have 240° shade from total of 360°, so it's percentage is:

= (240/360)*100

= 66.67%

The total number of Dark hair students is:

= 66.67% of 36 students

= (66.67/100)*36

= 24

So the number of students have Dark hair is 24.

• Blonde hair have 80° of 360° so the percentage is:

=(80/360)*100

= 22.22%

The number of students have blonde hair is:

=(22.22/100)*36

= 7.92

So we can say that 8 students have blonde hair.
