Let the larger number be x

And, smaller number be y

Then, according to question

x + y = 63 ….1

x - y = 9 ….2

adding equation 1 and 2, we get

x + y + x - y = 63 + 9

2x = 72

x = 72/2

x = 36

Putting value of x in equation 1

36 + y = 63

y = 63 - 36

y = 27

Hence, two numbers are 36 and 27.
