given that:- sum of two numbers is 23 , it means:-
x+y=23………(1)
Difference of same numbers is 13, it means:-
x-y=13………..(2)
from equation 1 => x=23-y…..(3)
put the value of x in equation 2
(23-y)-y=23
23-y-y=23
23-2y=13
-2y=13-23
-2y=-10
2y=10
y=10/2
y=5 (second number)
put the value of y in equation 3
x=23-y
x=23-5
x=18 (first number)
