And, 2nd integer be y

Then, according to question

x + y = 81 …1

xy = 1088 …2

From equation 1, we have

y = 81 - x …3

Now, putting value of y in equation 2, we get

x(81 - x) = 1088

81x - x² = 1088

x² - 81x + 1088 = 0

Now, by middle-term split method

x² - 64x - 17x + 1088 = 0

x(x - 64) - 17(x - 64) = 0

(x - 64) (x -17) = 0

x -64 = 0

x = 64

And, x - 17 = 0

x = 17

So, when x = 64

y = 81 - 64

y = 17

And when x = 17

y = 81 - 17

y = 64
