The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 16. so let one number be (10-x)so the equation will be

y+x=16, (y=16-x)…(1)

 if the digits are reversed, the new number is 18 less than the original number then the equation will be

10x+y=10y+y-18

9y-9x=18

y-x=2  by equation (1)

16-x-x=2

2x=14

x=7 so y=16-7=9
