So lets try and create a simple ratio based on the information that we have. Lets call x the 100% of the goal.

If 40% of the goal is $320,

Then 100% of the goal is X.

Cross multiply in order to create the equations, so 40 times x equal to 100 times 320.

40x = 320*100

40x = 32000

Divide both sides with 40.

40x/40 = 32000/40

x=800
