Let first number = x

then, second number = y

y=2x-8

sum of the numbers is 19

x+y=19

from equation second y=19-x

now put the value of y from equation 1 to equation second:-

2x-8=19-x

2x+x=19+8

3x=27

x=27/3

x=9 (First number)

y=19-x

y=19-9=10 (second number)
