When two lines are parallel their slopes are equal. Hence slope of the required line is 4

Let the equation of line be y= mx+c where m is the slope and c is the y-intercept.

We just obtained that m=4

So y=4x+c

Now it is given that the point (-3,7) satisfies the equation as the line passes through it. So

7=4(-3)+c

7+12=c

so, c=19

put the value in the equation y=mx+c So the required equation is :

y=4x+19
