Given :

One leg, let Base = 12 cm 

Other leg, let perpendicular = 16 cm

Hypotenuse = ?

By phythogoras theorem, 

H² = P² + B²

H² = 16² + 12²

H² = 256 + 144

H² = 400

Taking square root of both sides,  we get

H = 20

 

So, length of Hypotenuse is 20 cm
