The length of river a is 560 miles more than twice the length of river B. River A is also 1550 miles longer than river B. Find the lengths of river A and B.

River A is also 1550 miles longer than river B

here we can see, both details are given of River A's length it means, both conditions have equal values because both show value of same thing.

now, first let the length of River B =x, length of River A= 560+2x and length of River A= 1550+x

as we know, both values are equal then:-

560+2x=1550+x

2x-x=1550-560

x=990 miles  (Length of River B)

put this value the equation of length of River A (in any one from both answer will be same)

Length of River A= 1550+x

                                =1550+990

                               =2540 miles 

so, length of River A=2540 miles and Length of River B=990 miles.
