Let the width of rectangle be x

Then, Length of rectangle is 3x

Perimeter = 2(L + W)

Perimeter = 24

24 = 2(3x + x)

24 = 2(4x)

24 = 8x

x = 24/8

x = 3

So, length = 3 × 3 = 9 cm

And, width = 3 cm

We know, Area of rectangle = Length x Width

So, Area = 9 × 3

= 27 cm²
