the gas in a cylinder has a volume of 4 liters at a pressure of 123 kPa. the pressure of the gas is increased to 204 kpa. assuming the temperature remains constant, what would the new volume be?

Formula :

As per boyle's law, change in pressure of gas at constant temperature is inversely proportional to the chane in volume of gas.

P1 V1 = P2 V2

We have

P1 = 123 kpa or 1.21 atm [ 1 kpa = 0.0098 atm]

V1 = 4 L

P2 = 204 kpa or 2.01

V2 = ?

1.21 × 4 = 2.01 × V2

V2 = 2.40 L
