The Golgi Apparatus or Golgi body is one of the membrane-bound organelles, that are found in both plant and animal cells. The primary function of the Golgi Apparatus is to package protein  and other lipid molecules into membrane-bound vesicles, before transporting them to the different parts of the cell. It has a major role in the protein biosynthesis of the cell and the cellular functions of the endoplasmic reticulum.
