Given :

X+2y=10 ….1

y=4x-4 ….2

using Substitution method,

Putting value of y in equation 1, we get

x + 2(4x - 4) = 10

x + 8x - 8 = 10

9x - 8 = 10

9x = 10 + 8

9x = 18

x = 18/9

x = 2

Now, putting value of x in equation 2, we get

y = 4(2) - 4

y = 8 - 4

y = 4
